I’ve seen a wolf up close.  He looked at me and that moment went beyond what I’d experienced with any of the dogs I’ve owned.  He looked deep into me, as if summing up my intentions.  I was frozen, mesmerized by the intelligence and wisdom in the beautiful eyes staring at me.  Then when the creature tired of me and continued on his way, I felt heartbroken. I wanted more.  

Heartbroken again because they’re being hunted without restraint.
